WAUSM: MD Program

We're happy you're interested in pursuing a career in medicine through Goucher College's partnership with Western Atlantic University School of Medicine (WAUSM) that creates a clear path to your MD!

Upon successful completion of your bachelor's degree, premedical prerequisites, and all applicable benchmarks, you will be eligible for direct admission to WAUSM's MD program. Students who are exempt from the study abroad and foreign language requirements, as well as begin their bachelor's in the summer of their first year may also qualify for the Accelerated Pathway to MD (AMPD), allowing them to earn both their bachelor’s and MD degrees in as few as six years.

There are two pathways towards earning your MD through this partnership:

  • Traditional 4-Year Track: For students following a standard academic timeline, earning their bachelor's in four years before progressing to WAUSM's MD Program.
  • Accelerated 6-Year Track: For students who begin their bachelor's degree in the summer of their first year and are exempt from the study abroad and foreign language requirements, allowing completion of both degrees in six years.

For more information, fill out the form below, and we'll share information about our academic programs and partnerships, our application process, our community, and opportunities to visit.

If you have specific questions, contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-GOUCHER (ext. 6100), admissions@goucher.edu, or 410-337-6354 (fax).
