Program Overview

The Summer Enrichment Program is a two-week residential academic experience hosted on the Goucher College campus from June 15–26, 2026. The program serves rising 11th–12th grade students who are seeking early exposure to college-level academics, residential life, and personal development opportunities. 

While the program is residential during the week, students will return home on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Key Program Components: 

  • Strengthening SAT readiness and test-taking confidence  
  • ​​​​Building academic and personal skills needed for college success 
  • Increasing college knowledge, access, and sense of belonging  
  • Exposing students to college-level coursework  
  • Residential college experience with supervision and support  
  • Exposure to campus life and the Baltimore/Towson area

As the parent or legal guardian of the registered student, I acknowledge that this is a two-week overnight residential program. I understand that my child will reside on campus for the duration of the program (excluding weekends) and will participate in academic, social, and supervised recreational activities.

I understand that the program will have Resident Assistants (RAs), Student Mentors, and additional professional support staff on-site to provide supervision, guidance, and assistance throughout the program. While appropriate supervision and safety measures will be in place, I acknowledge that participation in a residential program carries inherent risks.

By selecting “I Understand” below, I confirm that:

  • I am the legal parent/guardian of the participant.
  • I grant permission for my child to participate in the overnight residential program.
  • I authorize program staff to supervise my child during all scheduled activities.
  • I understand that I will be contacted in the event of illness, injury, or emergency.

Student Qualification and Essay Submission
Successful participants in Goucher College’s Summer Enrichment Program show strong academic engagement, personal initiative, and a commitment to maintaining a respectful and inclusive learning environment. Applicants should demonstrate consideration for program guidelines, as well as for faculty, staff, peers, and individuals representing a wide range of backgrounds and viewpoints. Selection decisions are based on a holistic review of the application. While a minimum GPA of 2.75 is typically expected, the personal essay is a key component of the review process. Students are encouraged to submit genuine, reflective responses—written in their own voice—that highlight their interests, goals, and motivation for participating. By submitting this application, you confirm your understanding of these expectations.
