About the Presenter

Alicia is currently the Associate Director of College Counseling at Winchester Thurston in Pittsburgh. She's spent the last 12 years working with 9th - 12th grade students using the ASCA model and the social justice framework by Learning for Justice. After receiving the state School Counselor of the Year award in Washington DC in 2018, Alicia authored articles on mental health, equity, and belonging for ASCA and NACAC. She is also co-author of "Interrupting Racism: Equity and Social Justice in School Counseling', a text that highlights equity and advocacy in schools and the educational community. Alicia has also received the Equity and Justice Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where she is earning a Ph.D. in Urban Education.
